We were really pleased to hear that we were successful in our bid for Pathfinder funding. We are lucky in that we have strong institutional support for the project, and it would have run without the funding, albeit on a much smaller scope. This means that we were able to get on with some of the preparatory work in advance of the announcement. However, now the funding has been awarded it is definitely full speed ahead to get preparation done in advance of the 1st May start date. A Project Board, chaired by the Pro Vice Chancellor for Education will oversee the work, and a large Steering Group made up of senior academics from across the institution will direct the day to day work of the project. We held the second Steering Group meeting last week and were really pleased with the levels of engagement demonstrated.
Whilst pilots of research methodologies are being undertaken as part of the project, we are also starting to complete the HEA template in advance of the meeting on the 22nd and 23rd May.
